RESOLUTIONS

RESOLUTIONS…

This year instead of setting a weight goal, or going to the gym 3 times a week  not 2, why not set a goal of Overall Health and Well Being! Reach to the stars and set higher standards for yourself!

In today’s society we are rushed to work, rushed to eat,  rushed to drive home and rushed to sleep to be able to get up and repeat the same thing again… can anyone say “Groundhog Day”? Then the, “I dont have any time”, line runs across the faces of the human population. This same group of people also want to better their minds and body’s yet they have no time.

The older I have gotten, the more I like to sleep late and thus I loose my 45 minute workout regime in the morning which, I used to look forward to. Then as I move through-out the day, I begin to feel tight, tired and weak. At the end of the day, I am worn out since I didn’t get to connect my mind with my body. Instead I have had a war with my mind and body.

So, like everyone else the, “I have no time”, phrase flows through my lips and I have succumbed to the mass.

Giving yourself an extra hour at any point in the day allows you to reconnect, re-energize and get a grip. Activities could include;  mindfullness, reading, listening to classical music, taking a walk or exercise. The exercise techniques would be pilates or yoga , something that would be mind/body connecting and stretching and strengthening.

Ways to Fufill your Overall Health and Well Being:

To begin your resolution, WRITE IT DOWN. What is it you want to achieve? When do you want to achieve your goal? (Be reasonable with yourself.) Once you have it written, keep it close by and read it aloud to yourself when you wake up, throughout the day and before bed. The more you speak it, the more it will become a reality.

Break out your calender and BLOCK OUT a specific TIME and perform your activity. To take it a step further, keep a journal and transcribe how you feel before and after your activity. Writing your thoughts and feelings should help your mind and if your activity is physical, you have strengthened two.

Plan your meals and be creative. I find these websites helpful and diverse.

Drink tea instead of coffee.

Get the sleep you need. Maybe going to bed early is helpful, rising early or a seista.

Drink, drink, drink… water that is.

Whatever your resolution, the most important person is YOU. If for no one else, just do it for YOU!
