Double Straight Leg Stretch

DOUBLE STRAIGHT LEG STRETCH

Fourth in the “series of five”

Transition from single straight leg stretch: legs together; 90*, hands hold behind head

Inhale, lower legs from Powerhouse, exhale,  lift

Repeat 5-10 times

Purpose: To strengthen the lower back, strengthen the lower Powerhouse, stretch the hamstrings

Goal: To lower legs from the Powerhouse and get closer to the ground. Maintain the head and shoulders off the mat.

Benefits: Strengthen the Powerhouse, stretch the hamstrings, increse lung capacity

Keep in Mind: If you are weak in the Powerhouse, omit the exercise until you become stronger. Never lower legs farther than what the Powerhouse can hold, this can create major back pain. If you have any pain during the exercise… stop
